Why Varyn exists
Documentation is not the same as decision memory.
Varyn began with a simple governance observation: project files can be complete while the decision chain remains incomplete. Reports describe outcomes. Minutes and emails carry fragments of reasoning. Later reviewers inherit the result without a stable account of how it was reached.
The Environmental Decision Record™ is designed to preserve that missing thread—evidence, assessment, constraints, trade-offs, residual risk, acceptance and version.

Varyn is currently delivered as a founder-led consulting service. That is not presented as a substitute for a future platform; it is the disciplined way to prove the workflow on real projects before committing to software scale.
Each engagement tests where evidence is difficult to assemble, where constraints create friction, and whether the governed record creates enough value for clients to use it again. The platform build remains validation-triggered—not calendar-driven.
