Varyn Standard v2.0 provides the fixed structure beneath every EDR. The public methodology explains the controls that make the record reliable; detailed scoring thresholds remain governed Varyn intellectual property.
Evidence before position
Every assessed position must point back to source material. Absence or weakness of evidence remains visible.
Constraints made explicit
Site, budget, engineering, policy and regulatory constraints are named and connected to the outcome they shaped.
Trade-offs acknowledged
Where full performance is not achieved, the accepted compromise and its implications are recorded rather than softened in narrative.
Human accountability
AI may assist document processing, but professional judgement, factual review and decision acknowledgement remain human responsibilities.
Immutable versions
A locked record is a snapshot in time. Later change creates a new controlled version; it does not rewrite the earlier position.
What is governed
The record binds three kinds of information together.
Performance + evidence
What was assessed and which sources support the position.
Reasoning + risk
Which constraints, trade-offs, assumptions and residual risks shaped it.
Accountability + time
Who reviewed and accepted it, and which project version is preserved.
The score is useful. The governed record is the product.
